About

Built in Los Angeles. Built for the synthesis bottleneck.

GetWhys was founded in 2022 by Philippe Boutros. The problem: user interviews are invaluable, but the synthesis step is where insight goes to die.

Philippe Boutros

CEO & Co-Founder

Philippe Boutros spent six years in product roles at B2B software companies in Los Angeles before co-founding GetWhys in 2022. The recurring scene that drove him to build it: a research team would run eight rigorous user interviews in a week, produce a Miro board full of affinity clusters, and then watch the PM walk into roadmap review and say "I think users want this" with no quote, no timestamp, no JTBD job cited. The interviews had happened. The evidence was real. But nothing in the synthesis step connected what participants said to the jobs the team was already tracking in their product strategy. The fix Philippe built was simple on paper: theme the transcript against the existing job framework instead of generating new clusters from scratch. It took two years to get the confidence scoring, saturation tracking, and audit trail right. GetWhys launched publicly in November 2022 with a single Zoom integration and a free trial. The core mechanic has not changed since — only the evidence that it works.

How we work

What we believe about research

Show your work

Every synthesis output exposes its reasoning. No black-box conclusions.

Respect the researcher

GetWhys surfaces quotes and scores confidence — it does not generate insights you didn't collect. If the interview evidence isn't there, the output says so.

Evidence, not vibes

Quote attribution, confidence scores, saturation data. Every claim traceable.
