How it works

From transcript to roadmap citation in one workflow

A walkthrough of how GetWhys processes your interviews — and why JTBD theming produces different output than clustering.

Step 1

Upload your recording

Drop in a Zoom recording, Loom link, or raw audio file. GetWhys transcribes with speaker diarization. Supports .mp4, .mov, .mp3, .wav. Or paste a transcript directly — GetWhys will parse speaker turns from common formats.

Step 2

Import your JTBD framework

Paste your existing job statements, or import from a Notion table. GetWhys stores them as your workspace's active framework. Every new interview is themed against this set — not a blank-slate clustering.

Step 3

GetWhys surfaces the quotes

For each interview, GetWhys scores every meaningful utterance against your JTBD jobs. The top-3 quotes per job are surfaced with: participant ID, timestamp, job tag, confidence score, and direct transcript context.

Step 4

Export to your tool of choice

One-click export to Notion, Confluence, or CSV. Each quote card preserves: participant ID (anonymized), session date, timestamp, JTBD job tag, and confidence. Ready to paste into your roadmap review doc.

Saturation tracking

Know when you've heard enough

GetWhys tracks new JTBD evidence across every session in a study. When the marginal evidence rate drops below 20% of the peak — meaning 80% of recent interviews add no new job-tagged material — the saturation indicator fires. The threshold is configurable per study. The chart is exportable as a PDF for inclusion in research reports or stakeholder presentations.
